Worse players are traded for more at the deadline. If it is not a top prospect then it has to be a 1st coming back. By top prospect I mean a reasonable organizations 3-5 best prospect not their top 2.
It would be like the Flames giving up Pelletier/Zary+1st+cap for a mid 20’s top pairing D/top 6 C or top line wing who is in their mid-20’s and they hope to sign long term. Not unreasonable at all
