They haven't changed much on the whole, but have had new voices added which is taking things like climate change and things like the wealth gap seriously. Not because they are altruistic, but because the top free market minds see them as very real threats to the economy.
But the right needs a target, they always do. So Trump took up the mantle of lets focus on those guys (mostly because they represent the main stream values of free market economics) so I can give people to be angry at something else.
PP is doing the same thing, he is making up stories and rubes are eating it up that the WEF is anything more than it has been over the last 2 decades. The only difference now is that since they have ideas that focus on the climate suddenly they are a boogie man out to get everyone.
Its stupid political theater in order to sway the stupid people in our society in order to stir up anger.
I have no use for the WEF, I think its ideas with ESG are just makeup on a pig, but I also think they are just a forum and anything trying to paint them as a big bad cabal are either stupid, ignorant or deceitful.
