Nope, wrong analogy. "Writing" is as essential element to a story, same as "music-playing" would be an essential element to a song. The correct equivalent analogy would be "people who dislike games because they dislike the gameplay, really GMG" -- which yes, wouldn't make sense, because there is no game without gameplay. But there is game without story, it's an inessential element to a video game.
