I’ve received a 26 page long resume that included qualifications like certified metaphysical facilitator (level 4), theories on artificial intelligence, physics formulas (keep in mind this was for a writing position), a multi-page essay on redefining and transcending productivity, the outlines of software development workshops, references to schools that do not exist, cryptic cartoons, and scanned excerpts of academic studies with no context. All presented with different layout, fonts, etc on every page.
Got the same resume when the position was posted again 18 months later. So it wasn’t a one-off joke.
We couldn’t decide if it was a clever way to meet EI requirements of applying for jobs without any risk of actually landing one, or the personal manifesto of a deranged mind. Either way, my co-worker and I wanted to meet the applicant, and we pleaded with our manager to let us bring her in for an interview. But she said it would be unethical since we had no intention of hiring her.
