A man from a family-centric/collectivist culture experiencing shame from his kin for living out a "different" kind of vocation than is tradition and being on his own in a western country rather than with the family. Reading between the lines, of course.

It's a tale as old as time. And I hate that it's so prevalent for many from different cultures who come here. It's saddening to witness that tension and struggle from one's own family which is supposed to be a support base and a place of refuge.

Wishing Oliver well and hope he's able to work and live without that distraction weighing him down.
