He’s correct? You genuinely think people avoid talking about mental health because the people who speculate on their issues get called out for speculating? lol. That’s a stupid thing to think.

It’s pretty simple: when someone talks about mental health, it’s not appropriate to attempt to “read between the lines” and assume their issues or their struggles. It’s doubly bizarre to pretend you know anything about his individual family or support system. Don’t project your problems onto someone else. Tough to pretend to be empathetic or to care about whether people feel comfortable speaking about their issues when that’s your first move.

Instead of playing the victim every time you get called out for saying something dumb, just use your head. People aren’t telling you to stop pretending you know anything about Oliver’s family because they’re out to get you like schoolyard bullies, they’re saying it because you don’t and it would take a profound leap of faith to convince anyone that’s not what you were attempting to do.

“Schoolyard bully” stuff is funny from the guy who threatened to smack someone if he saw them “in real life,” though lol. You’re a gem.
