I think the problem with naming only 5 games is that there are so many other games that get left behind. I've probably owned or played a thousand games in my lifetime, and I go through this list and see so many games that were really great but I'd forgotten about them, and now I want to play them again.

Elite was an excellent game, and I always ended up on the wrong side of the law once I got long range military lasers where I could kill stuff before I knew what it was

Master of Orion 1 and 2 were outstanding games, but I always played as the Melkers because they had creativity in thier research

Anyone remember Space Flight 1 and 2?

I love the entire GTA series, but I really enjoyed the first two 2d lookdown games with very little in the way of character development or plot lines.
