To Vinny's point perhaps the bigger miss was how the team handled him. That said the Flames chose Mackey over their own 1st round pick. That's not necessarily a free asset. And compared to other players who have made meaningful contributions to this team and their current clubs that Conroy was responsible for scouting this was, IMO a miss.
