The most obvious one IMO is Boston but most people think their picks and prospects are too underwhelming to get the deal done. And I agree for the most part. However, if the bruins had to make the pick a 2025 or 2026 first round pick, it does not make that a less valuable pick. If anything, I would think those years would see the bruins in the decline and would lead to a better pick for the flames.
Other teams I could see in on Lindholm are Dallas, Minnesota, Carolina, Detroit and possibly Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh is in real tough in terms of picks/prospects. They would absolutely have to include Yager and, similar to Boston, the first round pick they could offer is not until 2025. But if the flames could somehow get Yager + 2025 first round pick (lottery protected) from Pittsburgh… that would be a good return IMO considering the market.
Dallas has picks and good young players and they seem motivated to make change to get their team to another level. Doubt they would trade Wyatt Johnson but if he was included, it would be a huge win for the flames if he was the centrepiece in the return.
Minnesota definitely needs some help at centre and they could use what Lindholm brings. Rossi + 2024 first round pick would be a great return I think.
Carolina has been rumoured to be in on Lindholm since before the TDL. They have some good prospects but I would just ask for Seth Jarvis 1-for-1. Carolina likely says no though.
I think Detroit is getting desperate to become a playoff team again and they still don’t have much in terms of centres on their team that are ready for a top #1/2 spot. I could see them making a push for Lindholm. They have lots of great prospects in their system to choose from as a centrepiece to a trade for Lindholm.

You are absolutely thinking about this the wrong way. You are thinking like the Flames are rebuilding, they are not. If the Flames deal Lindholm they are going to want a top 6 C back or a young player that will develop into one. Yes, with Hanifin they would absolutely trade him for futures because they can plug Kylington into his spot but if they can't sign Lindholm they are going to make a hockey trade with him, not a futures trade.
