I have several friends / family that are in the same information sphere as yoho.

Once somebody is in that sphere it’s pointless to try and have interesting conversations with them.

Once they are gone you realize they have not only lost the ability to think critically, but they have a completely different set of information on what constitutes reality.

I’ve seen super smart people become a bunch of parroted talking points, and justification for opinions or actions that would have made them laugh if they had heard somebody say the same thing 5 years earlier, before they were lost.

It’s sad to be unable to have a genuine conversation where you discuss opinions and get interesting ideas with people you’ve known For decades. In the end, it’s talk about work, vacations, kids, shared memories.

I wish there was an answer to rekindle the interesting, thoughtful people I knew. But as far as I can tell those people are completely gone, almost as if they have been taken over by a bot on certain subjects.
Kinda feels like it would be completely rational for members to stop engaging with Yoho altogether.

And if you are/were like me and you can't/couldn't resist, put them on ignore.

Until the moderation team recognizes they are a detriment to the community, the community should proactively disengage.
