Well, common sense should be enough to tell you it is neither doomed nor fine. The worst case scenario (which I guess is, vaguely, “doom”) is not going to happen. And there is a problem, which takes “fine” out of the equation.

I don’t think anyone highlighting the problem in even the most extreme cases are describing a doomed future, nor do I think anyone suggesting that the problem is manageable or that you can still live/travel there with little or no impact on your is suggesting everything is fine.

There will be a tipping point at some point, and while it’s surprising it hasn’t happened yet, it will happen, and there will likely be some extreme measures to solve it.
