Is there anything substantive to have an opinion about? Unless I've missed something, which is possible - since I don't pay attention and assume that tangible evidence would inform consequent news articles and this discussion - there isn't new evidence that goes outside what we've been hearing for decades: pilots seeing things, radar ghosts, "insiders" who never provide more than words, far-reaching government conspiracies, and so on.
No one would be more excited than me if there was real, incontrovertible evidence of alien contact. It'd be the second most important development in human history (after language), and I would be witness to it, and to all the changes that would result. However, just because I would like it to happen, doesn't mean it has or is likely to happen, and so long as the evidence in favour is definitely controvertible I won't be excited or even particularly interested.
