Not saying that Lindholm wasn't the best player on a mediocre team last season, and the 3rd best player on a good team the year before but Aho has been the best player on a good team for 5 straight years
If Lindholm signs for 8.75 M anywhere for any length that would be an indication of how much of a discount Aho left on the table to stay with his organization. Aho has to be worth at least 2M/yr more than Lindholm. If he gave the Canes a million a year discount then full value for Lindholm would be 8.75.
The Flames already have what was supposed to be their best player locked in at 10.5 for the next 8 years.
In any given 5 year span Huberdeau was never as good as Aho was over the last 5 years. Florida clearly understood that.
