100%. Calgary was up against every division winner and then the Eastern Conference winner in the final. Might have been the toughest playoff route possible.
Calgary winning in the first round against Vancouver wasn't considered a huge blowout though. Calgary was 3rd in the division, but only seven points and one win back of Vancouver. Calgary was coming in somewhat hot too.
I was living in Vancouver at the time and remember the mood vividly. The West Coast express was going, they had the Sedins and Trevor Linden in the mid-six. This was their year to start doing some damage. Gelinas had other ideas.
In the rest of the series, Calgary was viewed as a massive underdog.
