You should start your last term in office prior to turning 60. That way the absolute oldest member of congress would be 66 and limited to the senate. I made this suggestion like a year ago and got dogpiled for being ageist but the proof is in the pudding. The senior members of congress are out of insulated from the realities that affect most people, are out of touch, and are facing cognitive decline that makes them a liability to achieving effective governance.
I would also like to see mandatory testing for all members who wish to run for office. I would like to see them pass civics and ethics tests before being allowed on the ticket. After seeing Bobert and Greene I would also include intelligence testing to weed out the incompetent. We really need better people with more on the ball running congress.
Oh, and I would like everyone to run as independents. No more parties and no more tickets. Vote for the best person and let them represent your district. Make votes more representative and make them matter again.
