That may have been the perception in Vancouver, but around these parts, there was not only an expectation of playoffs, but a great deal of optimism that they could do some damage.

I bought season's tickets that year (starting that year), and my rep GUARANTEED that they would make the playoffs. I thought that was optimistic at the time, but by Christmas, I was on board.

Come April, the buzz in the town was palpable. I - and everyone else I knew - went into the Vancouver series expecting to win.
