That team was the definition of a Cinderella team. No one expected the Flames to make the playoffs that year and really very few thought they would get past the Canucks, no one thought they would get past the Red Wings, and the Sharks were the same thing.
They were a team that had offense being generated by depth players and players having career years. Shean Donovan was the third highest point producer on the roster.
They were a very well coached team that bought into the system and played above any and all expectations they had going into the playoffs.

They had the best goalie in the league who had a GAA under 2 and the rocket Richard winning winger who was in his prime and the very best player in the league. They had 1 less win in the regular season than the Canucks or Sharks.
