Well you still have an appointment with a doctor. The prescription I needed to renew was hardly life-threatening, so it's basically a formality. I know that doctors need to monitor these and there are reasons for the appointment, but it's also incredibly inconvenient to have an appointment where the outcome is virtually predetermined. The virtual appointment is perfect for that. They do other things though (just like any other doctors office), and the prescription renewal was just my use.

I don't think it's a bad addition to the healthcare system. It makes things easier for patients and helps reduce the load on the offices. It's costing the same amount of money for the system at the end of the day.
