Auto payment subscriptions tick me off.
I went to Adobe to cancel my subscription with them since I wouldn't be using their software this summer with my commitments and since it's a pretty hefty monthly charge to not be using it. So I confirm that I want to cancel and it says I get 60 days free before it ends (I presume to help the user change their mind).. except 60 days later Adobe just up and starts charging me again the full subscription amount. I had to terminate it from PayPal's end to finally end the auto payments.
My AV software did the same thing after presumably canceling my subscription with them. Full year charge though! Automatic with no notification e-mail or anything.
####ing terrible system on these things and they make it tricky to terminate them properly.
IMO everything should be month to month with a manual OK needed from the user. At the very least notification of upcoming charges and a prompt that can send you to where you can can cancel if needed.
