The bloom on the recent 1st round pick has always been being a middle six player. The vast majority of the information leading up to the draft that made projections had him as a top six/second line player. Top line player was rarely mentioned. Only after the selection and the hype cycle kicked into full gear was he blown up to be a potential first line forward.

Honzek is listed as a center but is more likely to become a
top-six winger.

Needs to solidify his play away from the puck but has potential as a
middle-six winger at the NHL level.

Meanwhile, if he learns how to use his size better in terms of being more physical, and continues building his smart possession-based offence and effective defence, he projects well as a
third-line forward in the future.

Samuel Honzek is a solid prospect who should play NHL games in at least a
middle-six role.

Honzek is indexed as a middle however is much more likely to turn out to be a
top-six winger.
