Depending on the universe/franchise, sometimes I like a marathon if the payoff is worthwhile
Chris Nolan films get a pass
Tarantino films if they're good get a pass
Big crossover "events" like Avengers get a pass
Horror movies don't need to exceed 2h
Comedies don't need to exceed 2h
And most streaming drama shows don't either. Like I enjoyed the highlights of White Lotus but there are so many throwaway scenes and scenes intended (I assume) to build the atmosphere that end up making the length of the episodes exhausting. It's also wasting people's time which they won't get back because of lazy editing.
The Mandalorian I firmly believe was in part so well liked because of how slimmed down and to the point the episodes were.
