If they don't do it on purpose then we are still left with a major problem. Not only does your message/presence resonate with bigots to the point they are comfortable and emboldened enough to openly show their support for you, but also you're too incompetent to be aware that you need to scrutinize your supporters so as not to appear as bigots yourself - a major focus of your detractors and opposition painting you as exactly to be what you constantly personify.

They don't get the benefit of the doubt when they've embodied these same attitudes and ideas throughout their party, from the top down. You know these people are settled in your camp. If you really gave a #### at how abhorrent these ideas are you think you would have the basic presence of mind and decency to stunt them instead of giving another meaningless apology after the fact. They are either doing it on purpose or are indifferent until they get caught. It's the same thing. It's too commonplace to be considered an accident.

Of course these types of Neanderthals don't show up for the Liberal and NDP photo-ops. Even so, why aren't Notley and Co. caught posing for photos with people in T-shirts expressing extreme left ideologies, because those folks are just as bold and attention-seeking as their counterparts on the right? Would they even exist? Like, would a "Defund the Police" or a Che Guevara shirt be all that controversial anyway?
