The way I see it the flames still have quite a bit of work to do this off season.
First this team needs to clear some cap space and free up 1 or 2 roster spots minimum. It's a shame the market is so soft right now, AFAIK there isn't enough space to ice a full roster. At bare minimum there should be at least 1 more trade before the regular season starts.
Secondly, IF we can open up some space, I think this team is in desperate need of a top line forward. Theoretically the assets from selling Vladar, Hanifin and perhaps Backlund should be enough to get a good high end winger. If we sell those 3 and bring back only 1 player , the depth should be quite strong while allowing some over our ripened prospects play more.
Centers: Lindy, Kadri, Dube,
Rw: New guy, Coleman, Coronato
LW:Huby, Bread, pelletier,
Forwards of undefined position (and difficult spelling): Ruzicka, Deuhr, Sharangovich.
LD: Weegar, Killington, Zad
RD:Anderson, Taney, Gilbert?
Markstrom/Wolf
That doesn't look like a bad team on paper to me, assuming the new guy is Nylander quality and Huberdeau rebounds. I just hope Conroy can get something done before the season gets going.
