In regards to Backlund I don't think it has anything to do with teammates and everything to do with wanting to win a Cup before he runs out of time. If the Flames are not going to be competitive he isn't going to sign an extension. I think he ends up getting traded, I think if the Johansson deal had not gone down he would be an Avalanche right now.
