Then get Kucherov in the 2nd in 2011 and Point in the 3rd in 2014 (with their 4th pick).

Vasilevskiy with pick 19 was great but really the rest of the 1st's in Yzerman's tenure weren't that great, especially the top 10 picks.

2010: Brett Connolly - 6th --> Katchouk = part of Hagel trade
2011: Namestnikov - 27th = part of McDonagh/Miller trade
2012: Koekkoek - 10th = most of Jan Rutta trade
2012: Vasilevskiy - 19th
2013: Drouin - 3rd (Bailed out by Montreal) = Sergachev
2014: Tony DeAngelo - 19th --> Hajek = part of McDonagh/Miller trade
2016: Brett Howden - 27th = part of McDonagh/Miller trade
2017: Cal Foote - 14th = part of Tanner Jeannot trade

Finding guys like Palat, Cirelli, Kucherov, and Point after round 1 was great, but also sometimes it's a bit lucky because if you knew they were as good as they ended up being you're not waiting until the 3rd round to take them.
OTOH that is 8/8 in getting NHL players (though Foote tbd). And then turning them into important assets (albeit many moves after Yzerman's term).

How many teams hit [don't really miss] 8 straight times int he 1st round?
