Dallas was fine because they didn't sign another big contract like we're about to do. They were never in as bloated a situation as the Flames. Dallas is not a good comparable as explained. The only comparable is SJ, who also signed a
better group than the Flames, but will still be screwed for a few years to come.
Kadri would still have another year left, so no we wouldn't be free and clear. We'd be trading a 1st away, or buying him out carrying his contract even for even longer. We had to pay a 1st for 1 year last time.
