Remember that Twitter is an order of magnitude smaller than any of the Meta apps. To me, Meta Threads is more like an add-on to Facebook or Instagram than a standalone social media platform. Plus, Meta being able to leverage their excellent ads delivery platform in Threads instantly makes it profitable if they get a decent amount of users. Ads delivery and serving data at scale are the only hard parts about building a Twitter clone and Meta has both in the bag. I wouldn't bet against Meta on this one.

maybe outside N America then, none of my kids or ex kids have accounts anymore, even the guys that used to use it, to the extent that I might drop my own account as I only use it to keep in touch with my ex foster kids, the platform is pretty much an online Pennysaver for the over 40's these days
