You're right though that it is a consideration and pushing Zadorov up into the top 4 and paying 4 mil a year for Carlo in your 3rd pairing isn't ideal.

If it's the best deal out there before the season I'd rather he take it though.

Going into the season with Hanifin unsigned is a recipe for disaster. The flames will for sure be 7th-10th spot around the deadline and it will be very difficult for Conroy to be allowed to trade a top pairing dman
