Sounds very strange that the Leafs would only want futures. They are in win-now mode.
If they are moving Nylander it's for an equally good dman. They are 2.4 million over the cap right now. Murray's caphit is 4.7. His buyout penalty for this upcoming season is 667,000. So they are now roughly 1.6 million under the cap. Send down Timmins and Lafferty and they have 3.6 million to sign Samsonov. That should be more than enough.
In no way are they trading Nylander for Wolf and picks. It just doesn't make sense for a team clearly making a hard run a the cup.
