Thats the point! He isnt past his prime, but 'Prime Lindholm' for the next, what, 3-4 years? Still isnt good enough considering the rest of the makeup of the team.
He could post some 100 point seasons and if we dont make the playoffs or make some noise then nothing has changed and we're still saddled with his contract when he is past his prime.
If you give him 8 years at least half of those will be 'sub-prime.'

He probably stays in his prime through 35 based on the way he plays. Similar to Backlund and also has the benefit of being Swedish.
