If Lindholm and Backlund don't re-sign, the team is somewhat forced into a rebuild of sorts. It probably wouldn't be a scorched earth/blow it all up because we likely won't be able to move Markstrom, Kadri, Huberdeau. But the veterans who do get moved will be for futures, even if it's more focused on younger roster players like the Toffolli deal. I think if we go into the season with some upcoming UFAs like Tanev and Zadorov, they'll be moved mostly for draft picks at the deadline.

If I was GMCC I would see if I could move Lindstrom to Buffalo for Middlestat and Jorkiharju from the Sabres. Backlund I would look at draft pick(s) only and hope to move Hanifin for a young forward and a couple picks. This would allow them to move towards a younger group and give some of the kids a chance to move up.
If he had to retain 30% on Backlund that would probably make it easier to move him also. JUST DO NOT TRADE ANY DRAFT PICKS YOURSELF!
