Except JT Compher would have been a long-term solution to the loss of Backlund and provided some depth to a position where we are woefully lacking.
The problem with the signings "The Wizard" - aka the man behind the curtain - made were they were a lot of money for guys that just never performed. He paid big dollars for guys that had one year of big production and didn't have a body of work to support the payment. Worse, the player was a crappy fit with the team and needs. There were some really good value contracts out there for players that would have meet the need and not come with term. Term was always where Treliving #### the bed.

Right but Conroy said we are opening up roster spots and not singing those same guys Treliving brought in for multiple year deals even for a year.
Those are entry level deals still good value.
They want to win and building the team from your own organization is how you do it.
Now if they trade Hanifin and Backlund yes we can look at 1 year deals to fill those holes but I think the goal is to get younger roster players back for those holes.
