It’s a lot easier to look good in the BCHL than it is to look good in Major Junior. The difference in caliber of play between the two levels is huge. There were a few publications that had Morin ranked as the best defenseman in the draft. I believe the head scout at Central Scouting had him ranked #1 for defenseman.
At the end of the day, they’re both good prospects and the Flames seem to have done well at the draft this year. But like any other year, you have to give it some time until you can grade it. I think Morin ends up as a top four guy at the very least. If Suniev ends up better, that isn’t a bad thing in the slightest
