Is there some master plan you would have preferred where the Flames suddenly become Stanley Cup contenders by overpaying for players who other teams let walk away for free?
Conroy gave the perfect answer today by saying this team needs to start getting younger and building from within by giving their own young players a fair shake. God, what a refreshing perspective that was after the last 10 years of throwing retirement contracts at 3rd liners and filling the roster up with useless players on PTOs.
