I would have taken it too. I doubt there will a better futures offer than what will likely be an early-to-mid 1st, a 3rd, and two decent prospects at positions the Flames are shallow in.

So Conroy is looking to make a hockey trade. In an era when the pure hokey trade is virtually extinct. The Flames are setting a very challenging course for themselves.
