Granted yes, I should have said generally people who build their wealth fall into one of these two categories. However, familial wealth isn't built by the recipient it's inherited.

No, but you build off of it.
Think of a guy taking out student loans to go to university, then financing a car, then renting and saving for a few years before he can scrape together a down payment on his first starter home. Now compare him against the guy with his education paid for by his parents, driving to school in the car they bought for him, living in the house they put the downpayment on. That guy will throw a few roommates in there to pay the mortgage while he's in school and think he's a financial genius.
I didn't know just how striking the difference was, but I've seen both sides and we are not all playing the same game. It's mind blowing the advantages some people have and the slingshot to success it provides.
