Yeah, I always get lost on that part, too. They get really angry when you say it's a good job. "If It'S sO gReAt WhY aReN't YoU a TeAcHeR?" usually pops up by this point, too. Well, I didn't know it was so great when I went into university at 19...had I known then what I know now I likely would have.
We're encouraging our kids to be teachers and it's my daughter's goal in life. She's had a pretend little class she's been teaching since she was little. She still makes fake lesson plans and she's fricken 17.
So yeah, don't hate teachers. I think it's a great career. The pay is very good (six figures) and the time off is unrivaled. Aaaaand in the mind of some teachers (not all: shout-out Malcolm), that makes me an #######.
