I get it, you work outside school hours to course prep, there's extra curricular requirements, etc . But guess what? That's why you get all the summer time off too. So as much as I don't begrudge the extra holidays, I also have little sympathy for the "extra" hours put in after kids are off core school hours.

Farmers are well compensated - depending on what they do - they can get a lot of time off during the non-growing season.
They get the same media attention - too hot, too cold, too rainy, have to pay people too much, can't beat up the migrant workers anymore.
But rarely do I see threads complaining about them.
