I don't know anything about his model but the sample of players who would fit the criteria of size, production and draft status is likely too small to matter. And if you are just disregarding draft position and comparing all guys who x size and have x stats - your model likely has very low correlation to actual results.
I'd be shocked if draft position isn't much more correlated to future production compared to size and your stats.
