It always easiest to get picks at the deadline, which is what we need.
Based on this draft, it seems the Flames are smart enough to realize the value of these players at the TDL vs. now, and hold on until prices go up.
Imagine the value of what we have?
If you need a great 2-way centre that can win draws and score for a playoff team. We have 2 of the best!
What about if you need a d-man? We've got three! A big bruiser? then take Z. A rock solid stay-at-home? Tanev. A top 2/3 that can skate? Hanifin.
At the TDL, if we can retain that feels like 3 x 1sts, a couple of 2nds, a couple of good 20 year olds, and a handful of other later round picks.
