With cap space being at a premium right now the only way that I expect that the Flames will get very good offers right now will be if they take on a large portion of the contract or if they hold onto players and deal them at the deadline. The problem though is that they run the risk of injury or players holding out. Conroy has no real leverage right now and to make a trade may not be in the best interest of the Flames long term.
Realistically Lindholm should be able to get a better return than Bo Horvat but those offers aren’t going to come in the summer. Rebuilding teams usually get their best assets by trading in January or February when there are a lot of contenders for the playoffs pushing for an extra bump, to build depth and replace players injured over the season.
The Flames won’t be likely to get a 2023 first but they should be able to get a good haul for 2024.
