Anything the Flames can do to get younger, cheaper, and faster is a plus. Toffoli is a decent veteran piece for a team looking to make a next step (which Calgary was at the time they acquired him, and NJ is now) but he's not the type of player you make any real commitment to. I would be extremely surprised if he approaches his numbers from this past season ever again. A second round pick out of this instead of a third might've been nice, but it is what it is.
