A big part of this trade’s value is still unknown- what will Sharangovich sign for to understand how much cap space we are saving.
Until that is determined it’s a little bit premature to judge. Personally, I don’t like the notion of where they’re headed strategically and that has Murray Edwards direction all over it.
To be honest, I don’t really care about this trade. These next few days are going to really make me ponder about how much I care about the Flames if they don’t have the guts to do what is so painfully obvious and necessary. I think there’s little to debate in earnest about strategically what direction this team needs to go to win, and the trade today is pretty, meh, and unclear, in that direction.
We need 1sts and cap space. Not more players and bs. You have 6 now UFAs and players humming and hawing about wanting to be here. Rip the bandaid off and do what’s necessary. Stop sacrificing value to make a buck Murray. For #### sakes it’s stupid short term thinking and will NEVER end in a championship. Ever.
