The Hart isn’t for the best player, it’s the most valuable to his team.
McDavid is also a defensive black hole & played with the 2nd leading scorer.
“The best” is subjective and scoring 150 points while being in single digits with +/- isn’t a ringing endorsement of play that contributes to winning.
Best offensive player, sure.
Best player… maybe it’s a slam dunk if he was in an environment that didn’t rely on him to constantly cheat defensive acumen for offence. But he’s in Edmonton.
