Besides the fact that a Horvat-style contract for Lindholm is both too much money and term for his age and what he brings to the table, re-signing Lindholm doesn't make sense for the makeup of the forward group.
Then you're stuck with two top 6 centers in Lindholm and Kadri (assuming Backlund leaves or takes a step back) that make a combined $15M+ for the next six years that do not jive with the Flames' marquee play-driver (Huberdeau).
If Lindholm wants more than $7.5M AAV, trade him for the king's ransom that he'll fetch because of his current undervalued contract.
