They just had a season where everything went right for them… goaltending, depth scoring and career years for a bunch of their top players, and most importantly - health. And they still got hammered at 5-on-5 in the playoffs.
Now imagine a bunch of things going wrong for them… like losing McDavid to injury for 3 months. They’re a lottery team in that scenario.
