Maier for the most part had a bunch of inexperienced receivers to throw to. Once Henry went down he really didn't have a go-to guy. Still, he engineered those 2 drives to force OT. He's a better QB than you're making him out to be.
Did he have some bad throws? Yes. But there's no need to panic. Over the course of the season he will show that he's a capable starter.

If I saw him getting close to receivers that are covered then I could see how receivers running better routes would help him out but at this point his throws over 10 yards are terrible. He has shown he can't come close to hitting receivers and that isn't because they aren't running the routes correctly, that is on his lack of arm strength and lack of touch on medium and long passes.
I won't panic because this season is already a write off and we were eventually going to have a season like this. I also think that although they are stubborn in believing in the players they bring in, I can't imagine DD and Huf are going to be fine with this level of QBing beyond this season, but I think we have seen more than enough to know that Maier is not the solution at QB and not nearly good enough.
