He seems like a pretty competent fellow and a keen hunter. While losing his quiver was avoidable, it's a pretty random accident. Like the poor guy that let his flint roll into the fire on another season. Lighting roots on fire when he could have built the fire by the shore in the first place is weird.

I wonder if it's a testament to how quickly hunger and desperation can lead to poor decision making. Same with Ann and Lee blowing themselves up building a shelter.
