So, first off, I will remind everyone that Lindholm cannot even sign a deal yet. Of course, they haven't come to terms, when the first possible opportunity to sign an extension is not for another week. It should surprise absolutely no one that nothing has happened yet.
Second, it is laughable to think that Lindholm is not worth $8–9 m on a long-term deal. Take a look around the league: this is the going rate for top-line and high-end top-six players. Lindholm is a right-shot centre, which is among the rarest of player commodities that every team covets, so he is going to command a huge contract from wherever he ends up.
