My Dad loved 2001, and I remember watching it with him and I might have been just a bit too young? I cant really say because I dont know how old I was when I watched it, but thinking 10-12?
It was one of his favourite movies.
So then I read the book, some lightbulbs came on, and we watched it together again and it just made so much more sense.
Not saying that you have to, but at that age it clued me in to some context that I otherwise missed.
